I have a LINKSYS Router model BEFSR41. I have a laptop that connects to it without a problem.
I am trying to connect 2 new devices ? the DROID MAXX phone and the NEXUS 7 (2nd generation) tablet.

Neither will connect to it. Both report an authentication problem.

I am entering the correct password for the WIFI connection.

Suggestions for how to resolve?

Thanks.

Make sure you are not using WEP encryption. You should be using WPA2-PSK.

BTW, that is a pretty old router, circa 2000. You could get much better performance with something newer.

Any chance that you have limited the connections to certain MACs? If so, you will need to add the Android devices' MAC information to the allowed MACs on the router.

What type of security is the router set to? Try resetting the router to factory defaults and setting up security again. Apply a firmware update if available.
