Wifi calling and battery life

So I recently discovered wifi calling on my att s7 edge.

I work in a poor reception area and it has taken a toll on my battery life.

I was wondering if with wifi calling on, it would somehow save my battery life?

I tried searching but there is no direct answer.

My question too. I have the Note 7, but same issue. I just turned it on and will be monitoring battery life today and report back. Hopefully others have some experience on this as well.
