Wifi calling issues

I have Att and really need the wifi calling. My lg g5 did this very well at my poor reception work. I would see the wifi + Icon all the time. Now I never see the icon and maybe it works sometimes but many other times it does not. Is anyone else having good experience with wifi calling for calls or texting. I have it turned on and called att and they said should be good to go.

Unfortunately WiFi calling is 100% carrier dependent. I have no issues on mine with T-Mobile, BUT I have experienced issues with the same device in hotels that actively block WiFi calling traffic. Do you have the same issues in all networks or is it only on a specific one?

my Att s9 wifi calling does not work. i've been getting the run-around from att. I started a thread on this because I thought it happened when I ran BK Manager app, now i'm not so sure. Att customer service has been horrible too

My wifi calling on my s9 plus worked just fine when I had it. Surprised yours doesn't work. Definitely call and get tech support to sort it out because I can tell you it most definitely works.

AT&T here & my WiFi calling works perfectly. Not sure why you're having issues. I have zero signal at work, but I am able to connect to the WiFi & calls are crystal clear.

On AT&T here too with no issues with WiFi calling. Maybe make sure your plan is set properly and your IMEI is registered to your account.

I will need to call ATT I guess. I have tried different wifi networks. Do you guys see a wifi calling icon or symbol up top? At times mine has seemed to possibly work but never saw any indication it was using wifi calling for a text message or call. Other times I have had zero reception but a good wifi connection and get message that emergency calls only.

Also check your WiFi Calling settings to make sure WiFi calling is set as the preferred method. Otherwise it might be defaulting to mobile signal.

I don't see this setting anywhere. Can you tell me how to get to that setting. And if a factory reset will do it I'll do it for sure.

If you long-press the WiFi Calling toggle in your notification bar you should see options to use WiFi as the preferred method or use Cellular. Unless ATT decided to remove it from their phones, which I don't see why...

lol, AT&T doesn't have this setting. at least not when you long press the icon.

Before a factory reset try to go into Settings - Connections - More Connection Settings and do a Reset Network Settings and see if this works.

Why would they remove that? What about from Settings/Connections/More Connection Settings/WiFi Calling? Do you see further options or is it just an on/off toggle?

Do you get any kind of indication that it is using wifi calling in the top.

I have At&t as well & my WiFi calling works well... It sucks yours isn't working. Yes, When home the WiFi calling symbol is always on top of the WiFi connection symbol beside the cellular signal strength.

Maybe try to reinstall/set up WiFi calling on your phone again.
Is your WiFi connecting to your phone? Do you see the WiFi connection symbol?
I'm assuming you got your phone from At&t? If you got it from Samsung you won't be able to use WiFi calling.

Edit: Just saw that your WiFi is connected.
Also, you can long press on the WiFi icon & it does bring up the WiFi settings where there is a toggle switch to turn WiFi calling on/off.

It all goes to the same place just to turn it on and off and to update the home location address.

That's true. If it's an unlocked model then it won't work.

I have an ATT model and I never see the wifi with the + symbol up top ever. ATT said I should be good to go. I guess I need to do a factory reset. What is the best way to back up and restore to get the phone as close to back to my current setup as possible. Samsung backup?
