My work has changed the wireless access and now I can get internet, but no WiFi calling. This issue appears to be settings on the router with the ports and other security settings. Has anyone had to deal with this? T-Mobile does not have any advice. My IT is willing to make changes to get this working, but need a list of things to try. The Wi-Fi calling does work on all the other Wi-Fi spots that I have tried, so the sim card is not the issue.

Got this from the T-Mobile forums, but try this:

For reliable WiFi calling it needs channel 1, 6, or 11 only and it has firewall settings for multicast and port 113 that have to be checked or the calling doesn't work.

Re: BELKIN DSL WiFI Calling "REG99 Unable to Connect" error solution.

BELKIN Wireless G router provided WI FI calling to 2 other ANDROID phones without any problems.
#3 phone would get the REG99 error. Security features included WEP and MAC Filtering on the DSL router.
Tried the PHONE WI FI OFF/ Power Down / Power Up/ WI FI ON method without success twice.
Logged into the BELKIN DSL router. Cleared the security logs, toggled all of the variable settings, saved and rebooted. #3 ANDROID phone had WI FI calling within 5 minutes.

Just a question for the OP. With unlimited minutes, what is the advantage of wifi calling?

Sorry I haven't had a chance to get this updated since the office that has the issue is not visited by me very often. I hope to work on this next week with the IT dept.

wifi calling is the main reason I am with Tmobile. The office I am talking about does not have Tmobile coverage, so I can still get text and calls if the wifi calling works. Now for my travel, I can be at a hotel with wifi anywhere in the world and as long as they have enough speed, I can make phone calls for just my minutes, no long distance (usually $2.99 per minute). Really a nice perk that saves money. I can also visit family in a rural area with no coverage and still use my phone through their router.

I have T-Mobile for $. Lousy signal in my house. I would rather use my wifi so I don't drop calls when going from one room to another.

It isn't usually for the minutes... It's usually meant for coverage. Such as my area has great T-Mobile coverage.. Even my house does.......... When I'm outside. My house for some odd reason kills cell signal (I've seen this for T-mobile but also friends with Sprint and AT&T as well when they come over). Not sure why.. So since I get practically no signal I am thankful for Wifi calling.. Since I'm on wifi once I'm home anyway. It makes it so I can text / call with easy when I'm in my house.

Also helps on battery since it kills / shuts off the cell radio.. One less radio using power :).

Sent from my T-Mobile HTC One using AC Forums.
