Wifi Data Connection Issue

I received my AT&T HTC One yesterday. The phone connects to my wifi network no problem, and maintains this connection with strong signal. When trying to use data, sometimes I'll get a result from typing a URL in a browser, or whatever I'm doing. More often than not I'm getting a "No Data Connection, Retry" dialog. This is maddening when you're trying to install apps from Play, as even if you manage to get to the part where you tap install, during the download of the app my wifi connection magically disappears.

What I've tried:
Restart the phone
Restart the router
Checked router settings (all other devices, 3 smartphones, 2 ps3s, roku box, three laptops, and a desktop are working just fine)
Restarted router/phone again
Disabled AT&T Smart Wifi
Enabled AT&T Smart Wifi and allowed it to manage my wireless networking

I'm sort of out of ideas here. I had the same thing happen on my AT&T Note 2, and disabling WPS seemed to solve it somehow.

I should say - the network is unsecured, and is unsecured for a reason. There can be no password typing mistakes. If anyone has any ideas I'd be mighty appreciative.

Not sure what would cause this, but could it be intererence from other wifi signals?

Have you tried Wifi Analyzer from the play store? Not clear if you have the ability to change wifi channels on the router, but that app is very handy to see what is sharing your channel and what channel provides better signal.

Yeah, I have. It's not an interference issue. All the other devices are operating as expected. Is between this phone and the router.

Do you have any issues with other wifi or just this one in particular?

Have you checked for a firmware update on the router?

Absent that, I don't know enough about wifi to be able to help. Sorry.

Unknown, as of yet. I haven't left my house. Will find out later in the day. The router has the most current firmware available. Thanks for the effort, I appreciate it.

Thinking about it, there must be something in the AT&T firmware or preloaded software causing this. I really didn't want to root and rom the phone, but I'm sort of thinking that's the next logical step.

Well, if you find it works on other wifi, I would say it is a router issue. If you find it doesn't work on other wifi, that would actually be good - just exchange and should work on yours.

I don't think the AT&T firmware is the issue as it hasn't been reported by others. My AT&T one has no problem.

WiFi on my HTC One has been good so far! I work I have Cisco AP's, Netgear at home and even a Belkin. All of them seem to test out good for me.

Solved it. Changing it from a/b/n to just n fixed the issue.
Thanks for the help.
