WiFi Difficulty

I've been having trouble with my wifi on the phone since Friday evening. I have determined it's not just my home network, but occurs whenever I connect to a wifi signal, open or secured. I'm experiencing 10-20 sec of lag time when launching apps, pulling up web pages, etc. I posted to the Google+ 6P forum for assistance & was told to wipe cache in apps & storage sections, then reboot. Tried it, & it seemed to get my phone working normally again for about 5-6hrs. Then reverted back to the same situation described. Any other suggestions on how to fix this?

Does this happen in Safe Mode as well? https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/2852139?hl=en. If it doesn't happen in Safe Mode, then some 3rd party app you installed is probably causing the issue. You'll have to uninstall apps one by one until the behavior goes away.

Does everything work normally on mobile data?

I haven't tried using wifi in safe mode. Thx for the suggestion. I hope it is just an app causing this.
