Wifi direct with Mac/USB transfer

How do I setup wifi direct with my phone to a new Macbook pro with Lion? I want to transfer my photos on my sd card to my computer so I can format the card to work better with the S3. If that doesn't work, how do I hook up the phone by USB to transfer data? Thanks!

I haven't tried the WiFi direct route however, you have to download an app from android. Com onto called android file transfer. Once it's plugged in changed the usb setting to ptp and the app will open a Window where you can drag and drop all your files to the phone.

I have yet to figure out how to do that. I had to download the android file transfer and that worked fine

I installed the software and kind of got it to work with ptp. Whenever I selected the camera folder it would disconnect the phone. I just decided to use dropbox instead. Shouldn't MTP work with that software?
