WiFi Hotspot

Okay, the Merge has been out for a while now and I see on the US Cell site that they have WiFi hotspot on their Merge. I was in Alltel yesterday and the rep told me that there is a way to go into the settings and make it work on our Merge but he was unsure of the steps to do it. I know how to turn it on with a short cut but the laptop only has a limited connection and it wont let you use the net because it cant find an IP address. I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to fix this yet?

I think it is a problem with the actual phone because I went so far as to have the WiFi sharing turned on by paying a visit to our local Alltel store. It costs $20 per line for unlimited and the wifes phone, a Motorla Milestone Plus, works great. However, I could never get my Merge to assign an IP address as you stated, so I dropped the hotspot feature for my line. Tethering works and I don't have to pay the extra $20.
