Wifi Only (without carrier)

I am curious, will the incredible will act as a WiFi only device if I don't re-up with Verizon (change carriers, get new phone)? I'm thinking that it would act like an iPod touch if there is no valid 3g connection. I would download apps, email, music, podcasts and whatever through WiFi.

I'm sure you can, but you would be limited to certain apps (no google voice for example). You'd probably be better off actually getting an ipod touch.

Was that really necessary? He/She clearly misspelled Verizon. I'm sure He/She knows how to spell it.

Short answer is yes. It will function just fine as a wifi device. The easy way is to just run the setup program again and select wifi. Another way is to touch all four corners after you start setup starting in the top left and work clockwise if I remember the shortcut correctly. Top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left.
