Wifi speed

Does anyone have speed issues over wifi? My fascinate routinely connects to my wifi at 1/2 or less the network speed as my laptop. We have a wireless N network and my laptop connects at N speeds and gets anywhere from 1.5mbps to 5mpbs. The MOST I have ever seen the fascinate connect at is 1mbps.

My Fascinate operates well over wifi as long as I'm in decent range.
I would download the SpeedTest.net app and make sure your download and upload speeds match what you're paying your ISP for.

Lots of WIFI signal issues here too, ended up shutting it off since it was killing my battery. I'm a recent blackberry convert and I always left wifi on, so its a step backwards for me to have to remember to shut it off, so more than likely I'll never end up using it.

my average results are 20-24Mb down and 4.5Mb up over my wifi at home on fiber optic connection.

Thanks for the replies, I will have to check my wifi speed as the connection we are on isn't always solid. Maybe I just happen to test at bad times of the day.

I've had good results from the speed test sites but have noticed weird response on the phone when using wi-fi. Things seem to take longer to load (almost like there is a pause in the middle of loading) when on wi-fi even though the actual speed to the outside world is faster. I don't have this problem with other devices on my network.

I'm able to get very close to my full ISP speeds (FIOS 20/5) over wifi with speedtest. I was pleasantly surprised!

I've not yet tested LAN transfers to see how fast it can really go over wireless N. Wifi has been crazy fast for me.

Grab a Wifi Analyzer from the market. You may find there are dozens of access points all using the same frequency as yours.

Just tested it now. Ran speedtest.net for both using the same server.

Fascinate: 5.41Mbps / 0.78Mbps

Laptop: 6.09Mbps / 0.72Mbps
