Wifi Tether disconnects

I'm tethering a lot recently using Barnacle app, and i've noticed my computer gets disconnected fairly often. has anyone else experienced something similiar or know of any way to remedy this? Thanks in advance.

I'm rooted using Revo, and running the stock gingerbread rom (first edition that was pulled by VZW).

I used wireless tether. Google it and you'll find it. It works great for me. I use version 2.0.7. Give that a try.
