WiFi- turn off scanning always available -s8+ android 7.0

im trying to set up my wemo- and it says " the android wifi feature scanning always available is incompatible with wemo set up"

How do I turn this feature off?

Check your Location menu, and look for a Scanning option. You might have to tap the Menu button again when you're in the Location menu. There should be options for wi-fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning. I'm not sure if that's the feature the setup program is referring to, though.
