WiFi won't stay connected

I have been having trouble with the WiFi on my Galaxy Tab 3. I have a good WiFi signal (my laptop and phone both stay connected w/out any buffering). When I power on the tablet, I am able to watch netflix for 3-5 minutes, then the wifi disconnects and will not reconnect unless I either turn the wifi off then back on, or if I restart the tablet. The tablet seems to be dropping the wifi connection. I can watch the wifi light on my router and it will blink when the tablet is working, but when it starts to buffer the wifi light turns solid (which means wifi isn't in use). Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have already done a hard reset on the tablet.
ETA: I've already reset my router and tried changing the channel on the router.

Did you try "forgetting" the current Wifi connection... Then reboot the tab and discover /save it again?
