Wifi ?

This is kind of a two part question .... I'm going to the States on the 19th of this month (April) ...and what I'm wondering is if I bring my phone with me ... I don't want to be paying for roaming fee's for one weekend ... I'm Cheap!! *called a fixed income ) * anyways the hotel has wifi ...can I do my emailing from there with the wifi on the phone with out any extra charges ? I'm with Rogers if that makes any difference !
Second part ....... I see that Skype has Skype Wifi for mobile devices that you can make calls from at really good rates ...Is it worth it ?

You can definitely use WiFi without using mobile data and getting charged roaming fees. Ensure the "Data Roaming" option is disabled in your Mobile Network Settings so that your phone does not connect to data services when you enter the US.
