Will Call Screening come via Play update?

What's your phone version?

I don't know that signing up for beta will matter. I'm not in the beta track, I got the feature overnight without an app update. I believe it's a server side switch that flips once you have the correct version of the phone app. I have to believe that version has been made available to all by now, it's been several weeks.

All my apps are up to date according to GPlay. I am running Phone app version 25.0.220310144, update on 11/06/18.

Google notes that receiving the update may take a while and isn’t necessarily automatic.

I didn't even know I was getting it. It showed up one day and I am loving it. Now the sales callers just hang up. This is great. It had gotten so bad I just wouldn't answer calls from unknown numbers. Thank you Google. Guess I'll keep my 2XL.

I'm also on that beta version, and have not seen hide nor hair of call screening either. Oh well ... I AM enjoying the dark beta version!

It has nothing to do with beta phone apps. I'm not on the beta app and I have it. As I've noted earlier in the thread - it seems that as long as you have a minimum version number for the phone app it's a server-side switch that gets flipped.

On second thought - maybe being on a beta DOES matter? Maybe folks on the beta version are NOT getting it...

I have BETA and Verizon and have had screen feature. I think it's just a tiered roll out.

I'm on Verizon and the BETA program, and I just got Call Screening some time this evening. It wasn't on my phone earlier today, and my husband just now called me from the back of the house and THERE IT WAS! I wanted so badly to use it on him, but thought better of it. I only get about 1 spam call a week, so it's going to be a while before I can try it out.

What's the next neat thing we're waiting for?? (Obviously, I lead a very boring life.)

You should have it by now... Works flawlessly... Love watching those stupid robocallers or spam callers hang up once the call screen message go up...and if you are a beta tester, you should have gotten it early (I'm a beta tester)..

See above, it's not Verizon that flips the switch, it's Google. These staged roll-outs seem to have little explanation as to what will get you "in" for the feature, it just shows up one day..

FYI.. just received the call screening this evening. Came home, plugged in the phone and checked for updates (12 app updates)
A few minutes later.. it's there! Now will have to check it out..
