Anyone else worried if EVO will get froyo. Took them forever it seemed to
update the Hero. Now starting to think about just getting the N1. What
are your thoughts?

Read through all of the updates on the front page coming out of Google IO. Lots of good info in there about android and the future.

The Hero only took so long because of the new sense version going from 1.6 to 2.1. The transition from 2.1 to 2.2 should be easier. I'm not too worried.

Here is the answer to your question:

HTC Talks Android 2.2 Froyo

In response to inquiries about Android 2.2 Froyo and when its handsets will be able to update to the latest Google Android software, HTC said, "...if your phone was launched this year [2010], we will most likely offer an upgrade for it to the Froyo version. This includes popular models like the Desire and Droid Incredible as well as hotly anticipated phones like the Evo 4G, MyTouch slide and upcoming models. We will announce a full list of phones and dates once we are closer to launching the upgrades. We are working closely with Google and our other partners to ensure we have the earliest access to everything we need to provide a complete and solid Sense experience on Froyo. We expect to release all updates in the second half of this year but can't be more specific yet."
