Will the extended battery fit with the existing stock battery cover?

verizonwireless.com has the batteries for $25 and i'd like one but if I have to use the extended cover then my case won't fit.

No, however if you leave the cover off the extended battery WILL fit in the Verizon holster and belt clip. But if the back is on it won't quite fit. The holster shell covers the back.

I am doing that at the moment though I am not thrilled about it. I am amazed they didn't just use the extended size as the regular battery. I mean now users need to find accessories that will work with the extended battery and that's on top of the Verizon version being slightly different dimensions than the GSM version. It's a mess and for the millimeter or so, it's not worth the hassle on the accessory side in my opinion.

That's what I was worried about. I'm not gonna go buy another case to fit this battery just for another 150mAh of juice.

Thx
Shawn

Problem is I can't see that back lasting long if you remove it daily to swap batteries. Maybe I am wrong. the shell case I got from Verizon is easier to pop off, but I don't like that the back can't fit either.

I picked up the battery today along with the silicone case which fit just fine. As noted in other threads though the holster/case combo and the Otter Box case/combo are not an exact fit or fit too tightly or just plain fit poorly based on user feedback. I gave up on holsters and got the silicone case.

The extended battery is only $25 right now. The original back will not quite fit with it. I bought one and love the way it fits the phone. You would never know the phone had the extended battery if you hadn't used the phone without it. It fits the way you would expect the phone's back to be shaped.

i almost prefer the feel of the extended batt to the original one. That extra 1mm hump makes the back of the phone sit more securely in my palm.

Absolutely agreed! In my opinion they should have considered the way it looks with the extended battery to be the normal look, that way they could have possibly designed an even bigger battery to fit. Its a much more secure fit in the palm, and I have Lumberjack hands, so its a big help!

I am able to squeeze my normal battery door on, which I would not reccoment unless you are trying to squeeze it in to a tightly fitting case.

Care full u could b adding pressure to screen and having issues.

I couldn't agree more. I think the extended back looks more natural and smooth. Before it looked like a reversed Droid X/Razr (picked up my extended battery yesterday).

I agree 100%. I like the look of it thinner (although you can barely tell) and I hate the way the camera lens looks recessed with the extended cover, but the feel of the phone is better with the extended battery. The weight is better in your hand, and the extra girth allows it to make contact with my palm, which makes me feel like I'm holding it more securely.

I am using the extended battery with the extended battery cover. It seems to fit okay in my otterbox.

Now I beg to differ. I just installed the extended battery from Verizon and as an experiment decided to try to put the original cover back on rather than the new one that came with the extended battery. Works perfectly! The cover fits tightly and snaps on all the way around. I see no need for the extended battery cover.

My Otterbox defender case fits perfectly with the extended battery

Does it seem like anything is too tight? I have the Qmadix case and want the extended battery. I'm pretty sure it should fit.

The standard battery cover fits over the extended battery with ease. There won't be any wresting with it either. Whoever said it didn't or wouldn't fit lied.

+1

While many have fit the standard battery cover over the extended battery I would be worried about putting to much stress/pressure on the tabs that hold the cover on the phone. Does the battery come with the new cover? If so I don't see any reason to use the standard one anyway?
