I just received an update to the Google Camera app (new version is 2.4.023). I've done no systematic evaluation of the pictures, but the settings, focus and shutter all seem smoother & faster. Pictures are fine, but I'm just a snapshot taker, not a serious photographer.

Coming from the L1020 and its dreadfully lack of auto-focus, in addition to its slow processing (even for 5mp pics using Microsoft camera app), using the Nexus 5 software wise is a delight. I hardly get unfocused shots, majority of my pictures are great and the odd occasion the focus is slightly blurry, I can fast enough tap and shoot to capture what i want (rather than waiting). Sure it could get better, hope it does...but if its not fixed with Lollipop i wont be upset. This phone is excellent and while its not the best camera, it gets more complaints than it deserves.

I generally have no complaints, just wish the focus was quicker. I've taken some really amazing shots with my 5, the low light performance is great.
