Will I lose root if I do this?

If I click restore factory settings on my Nexus 5 in the settings app will it remove my root? Cataclysm ROM is nice but I want to go back to stock so I can enable art because my battery has just become insanely horrible. I come home from school and I have like 40% left and I don't even use it too much. Also can you guys include some good tips on how to make your Nexus 5's battery last longer? I'm thinking it might be because I have a custom ROM with a lot of features and also because I have gravity box features. So yeah what can I do to make my phone's battery last longer and is there a custom ROM that helps increase battery performance and if I factory reset will I lose root? Please answer these three questions

First, a reset should not remove root access. Reflashing stock images should.
Second, it is hard to diagnose battery issues without battery stat screenshots.
Third, the kernel may be the biggest factor in your battery issues. Franco kernel is a good power saving one.
Fourth, some custom ROMs have power management in settings, so that you can shift from performance to battery conserving.

A factory reset without reflashing anything isn't going to make it stock. It will clear user data on the current ROM.

OP, if you made a nandroid backup before flashing your current ROM, that will be the only way to get back to stock without flashing factory images. The latter will break root
