Will keeping the screen on for long periods of time damage the screen?

Ok, so, long story short, I got my Note 4 about a week ago and I am loving it so far. Yesterday, at school, it turned on in my backpack and stayed on for about three hours until I noticed it. It was hot as heck and was at about 40% battery, but otherwise was fine. Could leaving it on like this for long periods of time potentially damage the screen? I wish the power button wasn't as easy to press...

Not sure, but this is easily avoidable. Do you have screen time out on? If not, I would highly recommend going into your settings>display>screen timeout.

Should be fine, and as long as you don't have any images ghosted on the screen, I'd say all is well. It also could be you hitting the home button, that turns the screen on as well, and it far easier for your pocket to turn it on than the power button.
