Hello! Nice to meet you all!

I have a few questions to ask everyone. I have the Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball mouse I love and use all the time. It traditionally looks like a so-called "fish" appearance I would say. I use it with my Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit operating system. I have customized the buttons on this trackball mouse to my liking using Logitech SetPoint software with Windows version of software. Now, I am looking to get a new Chromebook with the latest and most loaded features I can find for a Chromebook with features with 1080p resolution, touch screen, 15.6 screen size, etc. -- these features or options closely complement Acer brand models. I have never had a Chromebook before but installed and know about Linux operating systems (Ubuntu & Linux Mint) and also I have had a few Android smartphones over the years. Now, I would like to use the Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball mouse for a future Chromebook.

My questions to you are these:

1. Are their drivers (downloaded software) for the Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball mouse on a Chromebook? Please explain.

2. If there is/are a driver(s) for Chromebook, will I have the same functionality and features with a Chromebook as I do with my Windows 10 or not? Please explain. NOTE: Again, I would like to have the option to customize all 4 buttons on the mouse as I do with Windows 10 from an extensive list of options. Please get detailed and technical on what those functionality and features are if you can.

Please reply.

Thank you!

Welcome to Android Central! You can use any mouse or similar pointing device one a Chromebook -- just plug the USB cable or wireless dongle into the Chromebook's USB port, and it should work fine. However, I don't think you can customize the buttons when using it on a Chromebook, like you can on a Windows computer.

This thread suggests that you can try customizing the buttons while the mouse/trackball is connected to your PC, and then connect it to the Chromebook -- it might remember at least some of the custom settings. https://www.reddit.com/r/chromeos/comments/8eocpl/remapping_extra_mouse_buttons/
