Will my Moto G4 Play get Nougat?

I haven't had no update still till this day! I check every single day, a couple times a day, and there is nothing. I got May's security update in July, and that's all I have got. We were supposed to get the update in June, and yet here we are, August 1st and still not update. Super disappointing.

The update is still in soak testing in Brazil, as far as I know. Regardless, this wait for an update that should've come four months ago is still pathetic. And I already know we won't be getting Oreo either. Lenovo loves to lie!

Just got a notification for a system update. Unfortunately the details don't look like a full O/S upgrade. Probably still just a simple security update. Looks like it's up to August 1st 2017 security.

According to Motorola's update page the G4 Play will, or may, at some point receive Android 7

I personally don't see the benefits of 7.0, just rounded icons.

This build seems stable now, as long as you don't update Google apps.

I got the update yesterday. It may have come earlier, but I haven't turned my G4 on in a while as it is no longer my DD. The biggest thing I see so far is the ability to have two apps open side by side. Didn't think Moto would support this feature on their budget device. I'll try to play around with it some more.

My G4 Play, the Verizon prepaid variant, got 7.1.1 a month or so ago. (It's not my "daily driver" anymore, so I only got it when I turned it on again after reading that it was being sent out.)

I'm pretty sure that the unlocked U.S. versions are still waiting.

Got the notification a few weeks ago on my retail XT1607, but just installed it today. So far, so good!

Well, there were issues.

A short while after doing the initial update, I started getting persistent System UI crashes (where it would go black and reboot to the lock screen), which I couldn't determine the root cause of. Fortunately, a factory reset seems to have fixed it.

Also, there is now a security patch for June 1st available.
