Will Netflix come to the Thunderbolt?

Could it be that I had my account before they changed it to streaming only then?

Cause I can still Queue dvds.

UPDATE: Ok checked my bill I paid 10.40 last month.

so it increased to 9.99 plus tax?

Yup, Here is a glimpse of current plans offered by Netflix.

Just switched to stream only. Got tired of receiving cracked Blurays. Redbox is better for spur of the moment movies anyway.

I have been on that plan for a month now. I don't know when this plan was introduced.

Was released before the holidays believe it was roughly end of Oct or start of Nov 2010 of course. Took a while to get completely released all over the US and they implimented it pretty slow.

I just can't wait until they go completely streaming and don't have to sit there and try to get something that you can't because it is disk only. That probably wont be for a while though.

Are you using it? Can you comment on the app itself as far as video quality etc?

I'm on the GB leak and netflix plays but the video is white. Sound is fine but no video. I don't want to hop on cm7 yet since battery has been bad on it for me.

It seems to work as well as my iPod touch ever did. Although that was on wifi and I'm on 4g now, so 3g will be a new test.

Also, in a very raw method I have a nandroid backup of my dasBAMF rom and one of my CM7 netflix rom, so in reality I could switch back and for when I feel like watching netflix, lol. :D

I still don't want to root this phone - unlike I did with my Fascinate. I am waiting patiently for the official Netflix app for Thunderbolt to roll out. In the meantime, I am happy with TV Shows Stream (I think the devs of this app should pay me since I have plugged it so many time in these forums, lol) and its sister app Movie Streams (which, I have to admit is not so appetizing as TV Shows Stream). Another app I use is Watch Movies Now - I wonder how they are getting away with it as it does not seem to be legal copies of the movies. They even have some movies that have just hit the theaters - most of the new movies are TS or TC versions. There may be some R5 or SCR versions too but I'm not sure. But they do have an option to download the movie to the phone and watch it offline.
So I will have to be content with these apps until Netflix comes around .. but even after that TV Shows Stream will still be better for TV shows.

TV show streams is great, Quick question is there a way to stream on actual TV like netflix via Nintendo Wii or playstation 3? I would cancel my cable and use this, not that impressed with movie stream, I also noticed that my phone gets hot when watching TV stream, is this normal?

Okay I have to rant

I understand the fragmentation of the android OS. I understand the DRM issues. I expected netflix to come out with an app for only certain android devices at a time and work on supporting others.

So why in the f**k after theoretically 9 months since netflix first announced they were developing a android app, does the launch only support 5 of the most unlikely phones. Were talking the most popular smartphone OS in the world. More popular than both windows phone and iPhone combined. Why have they completely ignored the platforms which attract users which desire movie streaming the most? I mean a phone with a kickstand and 4G LTE support screams video streaming. If the problem is software, then what does the Evo 4g and Incredible have that the Thunderbolt doesn't? If the problem is hardware, than why does the LG revolution, which shares close to identical specs and the same Snapdragon processor, get netflix? Only 5 android phones at launch after 9 months which seem to share nothing in common is pathetic. And the fact that it took 9 months is even more ludacris because it invalidates netflix's claim that it was a hardware DRM problem delaying the launch of the app.

Completely agree. The main reason Neflix put off releasing an app for android was because of the DRM hardware requirements that they claimed the then current phones did not have. But then they release it on 5 old phones? It's proof that they just wanted people off their back while they slowly rolled out the app.
