No.I am curious about one thing: Are Pixels billed as water-resistant to any degree?

That's why they priced them this way, to hit payment plan targets on par with others of similar focus. Many people can handle 30 per month when they can't get $1000 together at one time. The tech enthusiasts will. By a common person won't... Or can't, to be more precise
Moto Z Force had promotional pricing out the box for $523 on device payment plan or $99 on contract plus a free mod speaker. I'm sorry, right now these Pixel phones are premium priced.Yes, they will. Lots and lots of them. Probably not as many as will pay the same money for the S7 Edge, Note 7, iPhone 7+, Moto Z Force, etc.

That's through either best buy or a carrier though, the price direct from Moto was $779 IIRC, but I can go double check my order form.Moto Z Force had promotional pricing out the box for $523 on device payment plan or $99 on contract plus a free mod speaker. I think most were hoping for a better-than-budget-but-less-than-top-of-the-line device. Instead: Google's come out with a pair of iPhone-strata devices. Disappointment and frustration, more than hate, I think. I was braced for it, given the earlier leaks, so I was neither very surprised nor overly disappointed.I don't get the hate. Do people act like this when Samsung releases a $800 phone?

Personally: I think people who spend that much money for a device with an average two-year lifespan, partially due to purposely built-in obsolescence, are nuts, but, hey, it's their money. *shrug*

Was thinking it would be unlocked like the Nexus', working on any carrier. if a Verizon exclusive in the U.S. then it's not usable on any U'S. carrier?
So probably comes with the typical verizon bloat, even if removable. Google's really distancing themselves from the Nexus brand it would seem with carrier bloat and lockdown.
It's not like Google is taking away choice. Don't like Pixel pricing? Buy another phone.
