Will Samsung fix the screen brightness bug on the S6 Edge?

If it's touchwiz then I'm sure on our next update it'll get fixed. In going to try Nova which I used to have and see...

mine does this.. black 32gb Sprint S6 Edge. I am on the 14th day to return it... should I? Do you really think there is a fix coming out? I hate that it won't show it's full brightness...

Every sprint edge I tried has this bug. I'd wait for a update.

Thanks jdunker26. I called Samsung and they said they aren't aware of this issue... and said to send my phone ins for diagnosis. but they won't send me a loaner so no way i'm sending it in and not have a phone in the interim. I really hope a software update fizes the bug.

billbrobaggins, are you on sprint?

I'm going to try a new theme. Hopefully that fixes it.

I applied the Nike theme put a cloth over the top of my Sprint edge and it still dims... themes don't fix the problem for me... I am worried some people have Sprint and do not have the bug.. and I do.. is it hardware related? today is my last day to return it... should I ? or wait it out for software release? I have great battery life, no scratches with the screen... thoughts? Maybe there is a workaround to keep the brightness FULL? other than putting duct tap on the sensors lol

Ok so I called the Sprint store I got mine from. The manager opened up 4 new edges. Had him turn brightness all the way up (auto brightness off) put a cloth on it (top phone on sensors) and walla, screen dims. It's def an issue. He tried 3 reg s6's, no issue. If you're experiencing this please call Samsung and Sprint and report the issue so they will send out a fix! It has to be bug related. And there's no way in hell I'm returning this phone. I love it too much.

It seems to be a sprint issue. I will report it to them. I just went into our bright kitchen and then screen got brighter. As I walked into a dark room it got dim. I definitely have it set to manual brightness too.

I have the exact same issue I am with fido Canada mine is 64gb edge white it says it's made in Vietnam .. I will try the different themes and see if it helps this is really annoying my friends s6 set a little bit higher than half way brightness is as bright as mine set to max only when in bright light is when my screen is almost as bright as his s6

Mine has the same problem. I also walked to the tmo store and checked showing s6 and s6 edge, both have the same problem. The max brightness cannot be set in s6 and s6 edge. Many people are discussing this in the different topics too.

When you test your phone, please try to unlock -> lock -> unlock -> lock the phone during you push the flash light direct to the ligh censer, you will reproduce this problem more easily (waiting 5-10 sec for each unlock and lock). Also, you have to set the brightnes level to the max with out auto check box in order to see this problem.

Hope this help And hope they will fix this soon.

All, I got a second sprint update today. It was also released today. And after reboot, I put a cloth over the top sensor and it still dims. Fyi, new update did not fix the problem. Anyone else have any updates on this? Other workarounds for the time being? I tried using other themes but they don't fix the problem. I even called the Sprint store and he duplicated the problem on 3 other edges. They need to fix this!

This is more than a sprint issue.

Heres my video. Really wish samsung would atleast acknowledge the bug.

Nice Trevor!... Also, I input in my dialer app *#0*# and a settings menu comes up... I click to test the light sensor and it only goes to level 3 (note my brightness is turned all the way up). I don't know if this helps anyone but I thought it's supposed to go up to level 5? Thought I read that somewhere....

Well, I have an S6 Edge unboxed last Thursday and I'm having none of these issues. Turning off auto keeps the brightness the same and it looks the same as my friend's S6 (once I switched to AMOLED from Basic). Maybe it was a bad batch, which would admittedly be difficult for Samsung to account for.
