Android Central Question

Some apps are now requiring 64-bit OS (Pokemon Go, for example), and although the g7 play has 64-bit architecture, it runs 32-bit OS. Is there a possibility that Motorola will change this? I've read conflicting reports on whether or not this is even possible.

I've also read that the g7 play will receive Android 10 at some point - will that make it 64-bit?

I had a G6 play and my friend has one. It never received the next OS upgrade (I think Pie). So I don't know if the G7 will ever be upgraded. Just from my personal experience.

I am not sure why the G7 is running a 32 bit OS. Where did you find out this information?

Hi. I had a good look online. The Play version is the only variant running 32 bit Android. I have not seen anything saying the play variant is getting Android 10. Apparently, running the 32 bit version of Android on the G6 was what caused issues upgrading the phones to Pie.

I really can't say whether the phone will a) get the upgrade and b) if the upgrade will be a 64 bit version.

The G7 Play have already started to get the Android 10 update in some markets, like Brazil. I'm not sure if they added the 64 bits support, though.
