Will the LG Urbane smartwatch work with a Samsung S6 Edge?

I purchased the new Samsung S6 Edge and am using it with my Samsung Gear...but I really like the new LG Urbane (not LTE). Some people are telling me that the LG Urbane smartwatch has to have an LG phone so won't work with Samsung S6 Edge. Is this true?

Welcome to Android Central! No, that's incorrect. The Urbane is an Android Wear watch, and therefore is compatible with any phone that can run Android Wear (i.e., running Android 4.3 or higher). This is different from the Samsung Gear watches, which aren't Android Wear, and are only compatible with Samsung phones.

Well, I'm not sure what the problem is, but I have an Urbane and a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and they won't connect. I used to have my watch pared with my Samsung Galaxy S5, but when I upgraded to the Note 5 it all fell apart. I've done everything I can find (reset watch to factory settings, removed parings and repared, etc) but they just won't connect. Very frustrating.

Has anyone resolved this? I have the Urbane and just got the Samsung 6 Edge plus. I can pair the 2 devices but they immediately disconnect. Not sure what to do.
