Absolutely not. This will have been extensively tested and fixed so that doesn't happen again. There's no way Samsung at this point would release another phone with that type of issue.

I'm sure Samsung has solved the problem. But I will be wary that some sabotagers might deliberately make it burn and get it on the news.

Every large phone manufacturer has had phones that exploded. It's bound to happen. Now in the event of the note 7, it had an unacceptable failure rate due to defects...and samsung would be shooting themselves in the foot if something on that scale happened again

Samsung put this device to a crazy 8 point battery safety test to be able to handle all real world conditions.

Don't be naive! My note 7 never had an issue. Google/apple/LG did a great job there to destroy the better phone! Spoke yesterday with an iPhone 5 owner - her phone is expanding. Battery issue!! Apple will do nothing! Samsung looked after note 7 owners in my opinion & I'm waiting to pre order note 8.

It would be suicide to have their mainstream flagship suffer from the same defects, especially after publicly announcing their results and measures.

Why would Apple do anything about about an expanding iPhone 5 battery ? The device is around four years old. You'd be hard pushed to find any manufacturer that offer hardware support that long.

There will be complaints about the S8 blowing up, some people are like a dog with a bone and will want to create controversy. Realistically I'd be amazed if the S8 isn't one of the safest phones ever created.
