Re: nexus 6p sold by Canadian carriers?

Ridiculous that this is the second top tier Android device in a row to be launched in Canada where we are limited to the 32 gb version. I had hoped that the manufacturer and carriers would learn from Samsung's pigheadedness with the Note 5.

What about the nexus 5X? Is it coming and whats it's carrier price? Sorry for bother.

Rogers, Bell, Telus, Wind & Videtron will all be selling it, as will best buy.... Subsidised price is $199 on a 2 year plan $699 outright which is the same as in google store. This is for the 32gb model wich is all they will carry I believe.

Here's the link with all the info if you want;

The Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P will come to Canada by 'the end of October' | MobileSyrup.com

$200 on a 2 year? That's an amazing deal for Canadians on a good carrier contract. I have relatives who don't care if they upgrade and would be willing to burn an upgrade for me while continuing to use their own phone... I'll bring it down south and pop my own sim in. Nexus 6p for $200! :)

It is only the 32gig.. And our rates are ridiculously expensive
... Over 100 a month for unlimited talk and text and 5 gigs of data.

153USD with the exchange rate now.

I'd be really surprised if it si $200 on the nose the big 3 carriers currently offer $480 subsidies on phone contracts ($20/month for 24 months). That's one of the reasons the iPhone is so expensive in Canada, because the carriers are not bending on the subsidy like they would have in years past.

that would mean $220 on contract. Not a huge difference from what you're saying about pricing but still, $200 is almost certainly not the number.

I looked at their prices, they only charge those prices for iPhone and Samsung. All other brands are 300 and under

that's because those phones retail for very expensive prices.

If you actually look at most phones and do the math, you'll find that the 2 year price is exactly $480 less than the outright price.

this is all due to the wireless code that made them go to 2 year contracts and ditched early termination fees. Now you basically pay a $20/month installment plan on the phone, and if you want to cancel your service the only penalty you have to pay is to pay off the remaining portion of your phone, so if you want to cancel service with say 8 months left, that means you'd have to pay off $160 remaining on the phone.

Any word from koodo, I'm actually getting pissed at their selection choices. No note 5 especially after getting the note 4.

Doesn't telus own koodo. Maybe they can just transfer you over or buy it out and go to telus..

Also 32gb is pretty good considering I have 8 free on my 16gb nexus 5..

Telus does own koodo, but if you want to buy a phone from koodo you have to buy it from koodo. Telus only cares about telus.

yea, the "flanker brands" are oddly indepenent of the big 3.

Bell owns virgin
Rogers owns fido
Telus owns Koodo.

And never shall they meet.

I mean, you can always just buy the phone outright and use it on Koodo, and it'll just work.
