Will the Nexus 6P work on Verizon?

Ik maybe this is a dumb post because the Nexus 6 was supported on VZW BUT big red is always changing things up. Is it confirmed that it will work on Vzw anywhere?

It will work on Verizon. It has the properly bands / radios.

I ordered one for verizon. the only thing we may need software support for is HD calling and proper Verizon VoLTE for voice/data. If i recall verzions volte stuff is not open but i forget all the stuff i read last year for the nexus 6

Yeah, can I talk and surf at the same time? And will I get Advanced Calling Features? Do I lose any features by being with big red?

You shouldn't if you buy it from Google since Big Red won't be touching the phone. You most likely will have to enable Advanced Calling though. The Moto X Pure Edition from Motorola works with Verizon and this feature so I am sure the new Nexus will.

It should work according to the specs listed on the store. It has the correct CDMA radios and the correct bands for Verizon (checked with on of our Verizon guys on the team .)

Volte is built into stock Android. Have advanced calling turned on in your Verizon account and switch on enhanced LTE on the nexus. Exact same process as with the Moto X Pure Edition. I had one of those and my call/data at same time worked just fine.

yep, now, I'm basing this info on the fact that the Moto X Pure Edition, sold by Motorola (and not by Verizon at all) works just fine on Verizon. And, for me and many others, Advanced Calling (VoLTE) worked just fine on the Moto X Pure which was pure stock android with no Verizon software or tweaks added.

It's my assumption and the assumption of others that these Nexus phones will work the same way. These Nexus phones have all the CDMA and LTE bands needed, were touted at the keynote today to work on all major carriers. Same thing with Moto X and it worked.

By the way, I have a VZW Galaxy S6, and I just popped my GS6 sim into the Moto X Pure Edition and I was up and running with no issue. If I were you, I'd just do the same thing when your Nexus comes.

fyi, Here's where VoLTE (advanced calling) is located in Stock Android 5.1. I assume it's the same in 6.0, but I guess we'll see.

The Nexus 6P will work on Verizon.

Here's what I'm expecting based on the Nexus 6 and Moto X Pure Edition.

When people start getting their units, if you swap a SIM in from a previous Verizon device, it'll work fine.

If you're new to Verizon, Verizon may not have the IMEIs of MEIDs in their system yet so you'll go through hoops activating it.

Either way, this phone will work on Verizon.

You'll want to turn Advanced Calling 1.0 on in your account setting for that line as well.

I have unlocked nexus 6 on verizon. Activated no problem. Just ordered 6P. Cant wait.

That was a while ago. Not an issue anymore. Verizon has changed their tune with regards to unlocked devices for the most part.

It's not just the nexus 6. They'll accept an unlocked iPhone 6 from other carriers as well as the Moto X Pure Edition. http://9to5mac.com/2015/08/25/activate-non-verizon-devices-on-verizon/

I'd imagine Verizon could change their tune, but I'm thinking they're heading down the right path these days.
