Will the Nexus 6P work on Verizon?

Re: 6P for Verizon ?

But can I (an AT&T user) walk into Verizon with a Nexus 6P and get a SIM card, drop it in, and it will work?

I would assume theoretically because
1) the phone is unlocked
2) I wasn't asked which carrier I used when I bought mine.

If they give you a Verizon nano sim it will work on Verizon.

Sorry, but the old saying about people that assume... I will just leave it at that.

And I just through that out there, because I'm not sure I will go back to Verizon... of course I said the same thing about AT&T about 10 years ago and I went back to AT&T a year ago when I left Verizon.

Re: 6P for Verizon ?

Here's how it was with the Moto X Pure Edition.

If you had an Nano SIM, the SIM swap worked.

If you cut down your Micro SIM properly, the SIM swapped worked.

If you needed a new SIM, you may have run into issues getting a SIM in store from a rep that didn't know how to not tie an IMEI to it.

Currently, there are no issues since about week after people started getting their Moto Xs, the IMEIs are all in Verizon's system.

I imagine the 6P (and 5X) will run into a similar situation but it would be nice if the IMEIs would get into Verizon's system on day 1.

Long story short, the answer is yes.

(And probably covered in a previous thread which I will merge this thread with)

Let me be frank. I know it will work, but I don't trust Verizon at all.

You will not get a 100% correct answer by asking the forums for a question like that, if thats what you want than by all means ask verizon. Good luck.

I'm not actually wanting an answer, but it might be what the OP or others want to know.

It's going to be interesting to see how some of these carriers work with these new devices because I have a feeling this is direction the industry is heading... manufacturers make devices that are unlocked and work on all networks. It might be a great chance of removing all carrier bloat and more freedom for us the users. And we can see updates quicker for not just the Nexus devices.

Re: 6P for Verizon ?

Does the Nexus 6P and Nexus 6 take the same sized VZW sim card? If so, I'll be in good shape making mine activate.

Re: Verizon

Just wondering if it will be as simple as switching out nano Sim, as everyone has been doing with the moto x pure

Verizon user with Nexus 6 now. Got 64gb frost. It should work by switching nano sim card. But I guess we will see.

Re: Verizon

I will, but want to get a new nano sim from them. I've heard their 50/50 at the store to give you one? Guess we'll see in a couple weeks...

Re: Verizon

I ordered a Nano SIM from VZW. It arrived in a couple days. I avoid the brick and mortar stores.
