Visual voicemail will not work until the phone is certified on the Verizon Network.Quick question. I thought I "heard" that if you take the VZW sim from one phone and put in your new phone, when you log onto their website and look at your Account, the new phone name (ie. "Nexus 6p") won't be the name of the phone on your line. I think I remember it shows a blank picture and 'unknown' or some name. Not a big deal of course..
And secondly, does VZW Visual Voicemail still work on your N6p? I think that was another thing that doesn't work on the new phone. I could be wrong, just was curious.
Thanks!
Huawei should have partnered with someone that could do no interest financing OAC.
Please don't laugh at me but I have a really stupid question. I took the SIM from my Verizon branded Moto X 2014 and put in my 6P. Everything worked right off the bat. But I used to have a Contact to call for Voicemail. Not Visual Voicemail but just to retrieve my regular voicemail. How do I do this on the 6P? Do I just dial * something?
When you bring up the dialer, do you see the voicemail icon under the number 1? If so, just long press the number 1 and you'll get voicemail.
That works! Thanks! And thanks for not laughing at me over my dumb question!
I ordered a Nano SIM from VZW. It arrived in a couple days. I avoid the brick and mortar stores.
Does advanced calling work? Were you able to set it up?
It does. I have seen other confirming this by being on a call and doing a speed test. You just have to add "Advanced Calling" to your account via the VZW Website.
Edit - Here is the post showing this. http://forums.androidcentral.com/nexus-6p/592486-6p-verizon-2.html#post4765565
My MotoX'14 doesn't support advanced calling, so it currently cannot be enabled on the Verizon website. If I switched the sim to the 6p will the Verizon website then allow me to enable advanced calling? Can anyone who is done the Moto X to 6P switch confirm this? TIA
Their partner wouldn't make any money. It doesn't make any sense

Yes I linked to the post where someone did this on the 6P -- http://forums.androidcentral.com/nexus-6p/592486-6p-verizon-2.html#post4765565.
That example was a switch from the galaxy s6. Presumably advanced calling for the account number had already been enabled on the Verizon website.
