will the O2 version work here?

But if price isn't an issue, why not buy one from a T-Mobile store unlocked for $499?

Can't find one around that sells them and online you have to start a contract, can't buy the phone. I have tried 3 times. If you were able to, I'm happy for you. I've tried and you have to start a contract.

O2 phones are unlocked for any network, just buy one and away you go
