Quick charge 2.0 and cable's

I ordered my samsung GS6 and i also go the quick charge Car adaptor Ventev - dashport q1200 .

I want to know if the Charge only cables i have been using will work PortaPow Specialised 3.3ft 20AWG Charge Only Micro USB Cable. They are Red and the perfect size for my car.

Or do i need to use a cable that is made for Quick charge 2.0 ?

As a second question the HTC M8 Quick charger adaptor looks to be the slimmest so far i have found is it also compatible with the S6?

Welcome to Android Central!

The cable should be fine, I have a quick charge car charger and I use whatever cable I can grab and plug in to it. It always pops up with quick charging on my phone. I am pretty sure the M8 quick charger will work on the S6 as well as long it is quick charge 2.0.

Actually I've found that charge only cables don't work with quick charge because quick charge needs to be able to "speak" to the phone during charging. As the battery total charge increases, the charge rate decreases with Quick Charge tech. The PortaPow charge only cables short the data line to the charging line which is a problem as the charger won't realize it's able to quick charge the phone and will instead just charge at a normal (slightly better) rate. Any regular usb cable will do for Quick Charge (as long as it's not charge only) and an increase in size or decrease in length will only give a nominal difference in rate. Still, the regular usb cable will allow the charger and phone to communicate and let the quick charge function engage.
