Will the S8 Be Enough to Sway You to Retire the S7 Edge?

I was going to wait for the Note 8 (or Pixel XL 2) as the S7 Edge has been going so well, but it's gone so bad now with screen-burn I think I'll jump for the S8 Plus when it comes. Might take a look at the G6 too.

I plan on getting the s8. What I will miss is the physical buttons on the bottom. I have an s7 edge and a moto Z force which I'm using right now to try and get used to the on screen buttons.

Yes, need my note back. This s7e is ok, but i need 5"7 and pen. I had all the notes, my phone life is not the same lol

No I don't think so. I'm happy with my S7 edge.

I would have to agree with Fit24.

Don't get me wrong, the Galaxy S8 will definitely be an upgrade over any previous Galaxy device, and will offer major design changes with obvious performance and battery life improvements. BUT i don't think it's a $700 improvement over the S7 Edge. If you own a Galaxy S6 i would say it's no brainer, pick one up and you will love it. Additionally, you will possibly gain features like a SD Card Slot. :D

Remember those?

I might skip the S8 this year and just get the Note 8. I broke the display on my S7 Edge on Christmas Eve and bought a US unlocked S7 Edge to replace it. I can easily keep using it for another year.

I have a Note 5 and that has been one of the most annoying phones battery wise to me since buying it one year ago this month.

A lot of factors at play... really need to see how well the S7 and S7 edge do on nougat and go from there. Samsung needs to redeem themselves after the Note 7 mess before I upgrade again. Wait and see kind of thing

Sold your current s7 edge before the s8 is launched and everything is confirmed in the way of looks and features !

Bro I got Axon 7 6gb ram version. Very happy with it.. Will wait for s8 and Nokia 8 and then decide... If both don't impress me will get s7 edge 128gb one and price would have gone down by then

Yearly upgrade plans from my carrier means I'm definitely gonna be getting the next best phone on the market

The Note series usually launch around September right? Might as well wait for that monster.

I don't think I'll drop the 7edge unless the S8 has a larger screen than the 7edge

I won't be upgrading right off the bat. I like the edge enough to wait a while. I'll see how it's been received and wait for any major flaws to become apparent. then if all is a go, then I'll most likely snag the s8 or perhaps even wait to see what the next note has to offer.

Why are people waiting on the Nokia? There's no way it'll be playing on the same field as the S7, iPhone 8, Pixel 2, etc.

It will be something if Samsung surprises everyone with half off on S8 price if you upgrade from an S7 Edge. A show of appreciation for folks who road through the Note 7 storm.

I don't have the Edge, but I love the series. If I had it, and the S8 came out, I'd still keep it. I respect the Edge for its innovation, style, and the gorgeous display, camera, etc. I've had a chance to use my mom's S6 Edge and man, I'm sure it just gets better and better with each iteration.

I've got a S7 Edge. I don't really like "the edge." I want a bigger phone with a FLAT screen. Looks like Samsung will never sell another one in the US, though. Everything's got to have that damn edge. Didja ever notice that they NEVER, EVER show pictures of TEXT wrapping over that damn edge? Nope. Usually nothing but pretty pictures. I'm tired of trying to read text around that edge. But, I want a bigger phone, and otherwise, I really do prefer Samsung phones over all others. Not too damn happy here. Import one they make from other markets here? Yeah, and do away with things like wireless charging. No thanks.

It sounds like you'd do well to jump on a Note 5 if you can find one. I also have a S7E, and don't like the edge display -- I kept the edge features turned off. I had the chance to try a Note 5 and haven't looked back. It's bigger and has a flat display. Sometime, I may even find a use for the S-pen.

I'll get it to get rid of the poor battery life on my 7E, but also for the upgraded features. The fingerprint reader on the back doesn't seem good though as I'm often holding my phone in a way that putting my finger on it isn't conducible or maybe it's sitting on the desk and I'd have to pick it up. It would make me less likely to use a fingerprint lock
