Will there be an 8 inch Galaxy Tab S3 or S4?

Hello everybody

I'm owner of a Galaxy Tab S2 8 inch. This device has been really useful for me, but I feel it lacks on battery life.

I am really used to Samsung hardware so it would be nice for me if my next device is also Samsung. Also keeping the 8 inch size is important, as the larger 10 inch models are impractical for me.

Thinking about an eventual upgrade. Does anybody know, aside from what's available in internet, if there is going to be an 8 inch Galaxy Tab S3 or eventually S4?

Thanks

I think it is not likely tablet manufactures would consider releasing tablets below 9.7 inches. The reason is that cell phones are getting bigger and bigger, closing in to tablet space. Also, cell phones are selling much better than tablets. Personally, I hope they start releasing large tablets such as 12-inch.

They might discontinue the S tablet series (like they did with the Note tablet series which sucked because I thought that was really useful). Don't think anyone wants or needs premium Android tablets anymore since phone screens are bigger nowadays and has better battery life and power. I do expect to see a Samsung Windows tablet, like the ones they have now, because there's a market for that (school, work, business, enterprise, etc.). They might just release generic Android tablets like the Tab A just for families and such since it's cheap to make.. those are probably their number one seller since kids break them all the time and families need replacements.

I have both the Tab S 8.4, and Tab S2 8.0. I would like to see a reissue of the Tab S8.4 with updated internals. Although the S2 is faster, I prefer the S 8.4 due to screen ratio which is better for videos. Since I have the best job there is, retired, I watch quite a bit of steaming videos while out. For me, the S8.4 is the ideal size for mobile use. For 7 months of the year, the Tab S 8.4 fits in my winter jacket pocket. I still carry it in warmer weather in a messenger bag. I have iPads, larger Andoid & Windows tablets, large screen phones; however, when I go out for the day, the Tab S 8.4 accompanies along with a 6” phone or two. All videos are watched on Tab S 8.4.

I constantly read that some large screen phone users think a 8”+ tablet is not needed. I respect their opinion, but do disagree. For me, videos on the Tab S 8.4 are pleasurable to watch. After watching on the Tab S 8.4, the phone screen, even a large 6” screen, seems puny.

I have no info on Samsung’s plans for smaller tablets with a screen ratio similar to the Tab S 8.4, or S2. If they do release an updated version, I will definitely order. As they did not release a smaller screen S3, probably not, but I hope they do. I like the Tab S 8.4 so much, I ordered another (new, still in sealed box) one on eBay so I have a replacement when my current one kicks the bucket.

Consider the Huawei Mediapad M5, since there are very few premium Android 8" tablets. I have an 8.4 in. M5 and am happy with it.
