Will this work?

Hello,

I have ordered a white Nexus 4, and am wondering if I will be able to use a Google account of the type I have. My Google account does not have Gmail, as during creation I told it I'd perfer to use my current Outlook.com email. Everything seems to work online, and I was able to purchase my Nexus 4 using it. I'd like not to have to make a Gmail account, as I'd have no use for it as my Outlook.com is my primary that I use for everything, and would like to use it for all of my Google comunications as well. I've read some people have had problems signing in using a Google account that does not have Gmail, and was wondering if this is still a problem with Jelly Bean, as those posts were quite old? At checkout I did tick the box that said "Link this device to this account." Will that solve any issues, as my account will get pushed to my Nexus 4? Or if I can't do it during the initial setup wizard, can I add the Google account afterwards in the settings or something like that?

Thank you

As long as you have a Google account you should have no problems. You're not required to use Gmail on the phone by any means.

Yes, I have a Google account, just during setup I told it I'd perfer to use my exsisting email, and set it up using my Outlook.com email address. Everything seems to work with it like Google+, the online Play store, YouTube etc. I've read though during setup, it asks for a username instead of email, and when people enter it it automatically adds @gmail.com on the end. Is this still true with the Nexus 4 and Jelly Bean?
