Will we ever get Oreo?

What exactly is the point of a forum when I want ACTUAL user feedback?
Your comment defeats the purpose of a forum.

If you have nothing better to say keep it moving buddy.

So sorry my answer wasn't acceptable to your very generic question. I'm sorry you didn't ask for ACTUAL user feedback. I wasn't sure if you knew that Google is a valuable resource for finding feedback on the Oreo update. My sincere apology.

Many if these features will be on the Note 8 Oreo upgrade.

One issue I have with Oreo is that screen mirroring to my Microsoft Wireless Display Adapters no longer works. It connects, mirroring starts, but then it promptly disconnects. This happens with both V1 and V2 Display Adapters - All on latest firmware.

You asked what is new in Oreo. The list of updates, even if most seem minor, is a little lengthy. Based on your question, he gave you a good answer. Google "what is new in Oreo" and you will see the complete list. Maybe you should have phrased your question differently. For me, I like the icon badges, as I had issues with this in Nougat, but working well in Oreo. Also some better notification options and configurability.

I see minimal change in battery life if any.

What Oreo broke for me is screen mirroring to my Microsoft Wireless Display Adapters, which worked perfectly with Nougat, but won't stay connected in Oreo.

Is asked what the benefits are, in other words I was looling for user feedback, I think its clear from my post that I was looking for people who had updated to given an opinion of whether the update was worth the wait or if we would have been better off with a Security Update.

Googling that would have landed me in a forum where I would have probably had to ask the same thing.

Re: Note 8 Oreo?

Especially how it's said they're 2 to 4 weeks ahead of schedule with the Note 9 firmware. We could be pre ordering at the very end of July possibly!

I can't see how that's even possible. Would be nice but highly unlikely.

got to curious so flashed Oreo on my dual sim N8 this morning, going to set it up exactly like my daily driver single sim just to compare but don't you know just fine I'll get the OTA update on that just as I finish the setup

someone mentioned we should get oreo end of this month. hopefully that is the case.

My AT&T Note 8 got it but I wonder how many months I'll have to wait for my unlocked Note 8 to be stripped of individual text message notification tones offered the update.

How are they comparing? one important feature is left out for me, the ability to assign a different message tone to contacts, can't believe they left this simple feature out, still on the fence about installing Oreo when it arrives for this reason.

Then we have to ask, "What does Oreo offer the Note 8 owner?". We know what it takes away.

Got tired of waiting and switched to S9+! Happy so far and loving the Oreo features in the Samsung Experience!

I got the S9 for my wife the other day, she came from a Note 4 and wanted a smaller phone, I went to set it up and then realised that I couldn't set a customised tone for her contacts, she gave me a nasty scowl lol, her old Note 4 could!

Customized tone for contact's messages to be exact. That has been the #1 problem users are facing as Samsung for some reason removed that feature in Oreo. I don't use it so it really didn't affect me.

The Note 8 is fast. ...and it is smooth. IME, the S9+ is even faster and smoother. I notice it whenever I use my S9+. It's just lightning quick. It's faster than I need it to be. At this point it's pure decadence... for me. I've applied all my old Android performance trix (I've been at this for more than 6 years), maybe we're at the point where I no longer need to?
