Will we ever get Oreo?

Re: Oreo Update

I have N950W, I guess I'm sol.
You are not! I have been running the last few builds on my N950W for a while now, including CRBB (and new the newer CRC1).

When you flash the USA BRA8, your N950W will turn into a N950U (caution: this will wipe your phone, back up first!!). Then you can flash the leaked Oreo updates. If you flash the HOME_CSC from the latest Telus 7.1.1 after, you will get VoLTE and Caller ID/Spam Protection back.

The instructions do not say where the OTA file is.

EDIT: Found it in a post above. I'll post later if it doesnt work.

Re: Oreo Update

"U" is the carrier version with subsequent carrier apps and boot logos. "U1" is unlocked without carrier apps. Yours is behaving correctly.

I am still confused. It says:

Check your phone’s model number to see if its N950U or N950U1. If your model number is N950U1 you will have carrier apps and boot animation when using your phone.

That says the U1 model has the carrier apps and boot animation. Typo?

Typo. My unlocked s8+ is a G955U1

Re: Oreo Update

ODIN can't detect the device is connected unless the phone is onand in the OS. Any ideas?

Re: Oreo Update

Did you install the Samsung USB drivers?

Also make sure you are using the correct version of Odin.

Re: Oreo Update

Can anyone provide to me as to why Oreo is such a big update? So far, the phone has been running great. I use Nova and many features talked about, already included with the Nova Launcher. Just curious to see what difference I will notice if any.

Re: Oreo Update

I'm using v3.13 that was linked in the article.

EDIT: Forget to press continue. I'll update if it doesnt work with the error codes.

EDIT: IS it because I have a password on my phone? and a bootup pin?

Re: Oreo Update

Hmm. I always use 3.12.5, and it has never let me down.
Try this one: ODIN 3.12.5

I would disable the bootup PIN, but I never had any problems flashing with FRP and a password enabled.

*Edit* Wait. What are you flashing? BRA8? Just to clarify.
