Nothing. It's all minor, and mostly backend optimizing.

Note 8 Oreo?

Hi everyone.

It's been a while since my last post. Hope y'all doing good.

A few days ago I saw a advert for the new Galaxy s9/s9+

Are Samsung having a laugh? I pre-ordered my Note 8 in August 2017 and only received it in September and already Samsung are releasing the S9's! OMG!!

Anyway... I assume that the S9's will ship with Android 8 Oreo. I'm in the UK and haven't even got Oreo on my Note 8 yet!

Does anyone know when I'm likely to get the update. Or do I have to wait until after the S9's are released?

Sorry if I'm sounding a little hacked off... it's just that someone from Samsung told me that I would have Oreo by Christmas but its March now.

Did you do a FDR, fresh start? If you did, it isn't Oreo that makes it seem faster

Maybe you're new to Samsung products? The S series is always introduced in late winter/early spring and the Note series is always introduced in late summer. Been that way since the Note began.

Just FYI, a post on the Samsung Turkey site said Oreo would be released March 30. It did not say which countries would get it first.

I see a lot of clamoring for Oreo on the Note 8. I hope once it's released it doesn't bork everyone's phones. I think even when it is released I'll wait and let others be the guinea pigs. Right now my Note 8s work as advertised so no complaints.

Exactly. I'm going to postpone it for several weeks, most likely. I never take a major update as soon as it's released.

I read that earlier but I thought it said that it would be there March 30 and that it could roll out in other countries sooner.

In the end, it's just nit-picking. I am going to wait for the OTA (literally to come over the air). The natural approach.

Nope. I'm on tmobile and flashed it over the unlocked firmware I was running. It brought all the tmobile bloatware back, but that's to be expected.
