Will we see a version with AT&T 3G bands?

That is actually incorrect, AT&T's 3G is the same frequencies that the rest of the world uses. T-Mobiles frequencies was purchased in this country at that frequency because it was free spectrum and there was not enough of the current spectrum available. Also the reason behind googles desire to work with t-Mobile is because t-mobile introduced android first and pushed android hard in the early days so for loyalty google rewards them with first google only phones

Actually, for 3G, AT&T uses the 850/1900mhz bands, T-Mobile uses the 1700 AWS
band and the rest of the word, except for Canada and a few other cdma networks
use the 2100 mhz band for their 3g HSPA networks.

So the word is, it will make calls on at&t no problem, will do data, but high speed data is a no go?

I'm sure we will see a model for everyone else just like the Nexus One did a few months later. I had to wait for a Canadian model too, but now that Google has stated it won't sell online like it did in the past, wonder if Best Buy Canada will be the only source for us?

I really frickin hope so. Why they went with the WORST of the big four i have no idea. Prolly why the iphone is on at&t. CONTRACTS

i'm thinking it's because Google knows it will slow things down and allow them to catch bugs before it gets into TOO many hands... eventually it'll go to the other carriers...

I read so much news that honestly I forgot where I read it. I think it was the Russian article about it using super LCD instead of somled.

Most of the world uses UMTS band I, at 2100 Mhz. AT&T uses UMTS bands II and V at 1900 and 850 mhz. Tmobile uses UMTS band IV at 1700 mhz uplink and 2100 download. It's important to note that the tmobile band is not the same as band I, even though they're both somewhere in 2100 mhz for downlink.

Interesting, in Engadget's review of the Nexus S they claim "2 Mbps down and 1.5 up on AT&T in the wilds of Brooklyn."
Nexus S review -- Engadget

I think that article is poorly written. They meant that on the other devices that they were carrying (iphone for example) that are on att got 2 mbps down and 1.5 mbps up.

It's GSM, Google or Samsung could decide to make more people want it so they add AT&T. Just like Nexus One... however I hope it hits CDMA.
