Are you asking if you can BBM to iMessage or whatsapp? Do any messengers do that? I mean, it'd be a cool feature and all- I have just never heard of that!

See, I'm under the impression BBM is a messaging app to send and receive texts. So If I were to install it on my ONE and send a message to my wife with whom uses a stock EVO, with no BBM installed, will she get it and can she send a message back?

Yes, I will. WhatsApp is good but it's no different than the SMS system and I don't like that I have to give out my phone number. For BBM, it's just PINs.

Groupme integrates with standard text messaging in a good way. Although it's really not designed or efficient to use for messaging just one person at a time. But you could.

Agreed. For those of us that used a BB before evolving to Android, BBM was one of its best features. I'm excited to use it again and I believe others are too.

The last I heard it is supposed to be released for iOS & android by the end of September. Someone on another thread stated Blackberry always releases things on Tuesdays- so allegedly that would put us at 09/24/13 at the latest. We'll see!

Its my understanding that they are waiting on Apple. It was submitted to the AppStore about 2 weeks ago. They want a simotanious release on both platforms. Since Android does not have an approval process all they have to do is hit publish and its available about 20 minutes later.

Delays are the norm with Apple, especially for new apps that are competition for their own products. Its not as bad as it used to be but I can pretty much guarantee you that they don't want this high profile competition for iMessage . .. I don't think they have the guts to deny it but I can definitely see them delaying it until after iOS 7 launches.

Hopefully they will suprise me but I'm not holding my breath.
