Nova or Apex is definitely where it is as at for ICS.

+1

Anyone who has not tried or had the chance to try Apex or Nova on an ICS device, you really have to try them if you decide to use a 3rd party launcher. They offer everything GO or ADW or LPP offer, and more, plus they are built specifically for ICS. I use Apex, and Android Pro Widgets, and love everything about both. The customizations available for Apex and APW are awesome. If you root and flash a custom rom with additional customizations, your options become endless for how to create the look and feel of your phone.

Like many of you, I plan to try stock for a while. I like it on my Tab. I was using LP on my X2, so I might try that or maybe one of the ICS launchers mentioned here if I get tired of TouchWiz.

I've never actually rooted a phone before, so I will most likely try out TouchWiz and see if I feel the need for a change. I hated the older version that came on the Fascinate but I've heard that it's improved quite a bit.

I'm going to try out stock TW for a day or two, but I'll probably end up using Go Launcher. That's what's on my Inc 2 currently and I love it.

Are Nova and Apex for rooted phones only? Or can you install them on stock phones?

One feature that does require root is being able to drag widgets from the in-drawer widgets tab to the screen. To place widgets without root, you will have to use the old method of long pressing on the screen and selecting a widget. At least that's what I've experienced with Apex; not sure about Nova but I imagine it's the same.

I'm going to give TouchWiz a shot and see how I like it first. I'll definitely look at Apex or Nova if I don't like TW.

I'll give TouchWiz a few days to see if I like it. If not, I won't hesitate to try Apex and/or Nova.

I'd like to try some launcher that doesn't consist of merely rows and columns of icons and widgets, though. But I'm not ready to go with a Windows Phone type setup, either. Anyone know of an ICS launcher that could strike a happy medium?
