Now that LG are building the Pixel 2 without a Headphone jack. and have cut features in certain regions on their own G6... No Wireless/ Only 32GB/ and No DAC in UK, No DAC / only 32GB in the US and Asia get everything... Yet now that LG are re-packaging and re-branding the Asian version of the G6 and calling it the G6+ and charging full flagship price all over again...

What feature cutting would turn you away from buying the G7 / V40 next year.

Cheers

Flat screen. If they decide to go with a curved screen I will seriously have to reconsider my options.

I'd rather a flat lcd, but could live with amoled as long as it's not curved.

The V30 will be curved glass but the display is still flat from what I could tell.

I'm still not keen on this curved glass to be honest, finding a decent TG screen protector isn't an easy task.

Still, it would be good if LG release the V30 in the UK unlike the V20. Always good to have choice.

This is a great time for Android phones. Ever since the first Iphone I've been with Android....even though the operating system had stability issues compared to Iphone which was always smoother and very stable. My wife and daughter have always had and still have IPhones. I had a Droid Maxx which served its purpose rather well but as Droids aged they slowed down rather quickly. That changed for me last year when I bought a G5. Much faster out of the box then anything I ever tried before. I found the same with Nexus 6P and 5X that I had for two weeks each. My uncle now has my G5 and it still screams just as fast as my V20. The V20 is so good I almost feel stupid looking at the V30. Anyway my point is you should be OK with holding on to your phone for awhile. BTW... I have an iphone for work and its great but not my cup of tea.

We're enthusiast's, that's what we do.

I always buy phones every year. I've held on to this MXPE for almost 2 years now. First year was great but I'll never do it again.

My Verizon G3 hasn't slowed down plus still receives the occasional update. If they treat the G6 the same I'm sticking with LG.

If they keep making phones as good as the G6, then I'll stick with LG for a while. This is my first LG, but my wife has had several: the G2, G3 and now the G5.

I loved the OG Moto X, and then the Moto X Pure Edition but Moto/Lenovo seems to have forgotten what made the Moto X line of phones great and I'm not as interested in the Z series phones as I once were.

After some frustrating experiences with LG G4 (boot loop), TVs and a refrigerator, I swore I would never buy another LG product again. But the G6 won me over. As long as they keep the G lines with flat screen, I'd buy the next G (or whenever I'm allowed to upgrade on my plan).

After going through a Motorola and a couple Nokias, I made my way to Samsung. The 807 slider, S2 and S3 mini, then the S5. I planned on going to the S7 but held off til this year's crop was released.

I went back and forth, trying to decide between the S8 and G6. Familiarity with TouchWiz was a leading feature, but ultimately it came down to the flat vs curved screen. I've had the G6 for a couple months now and could see myself sticking with LG. Though, I really do miss the little notification LED!

Nice! The Samsung D807 was awesome back in the day. I had that one too.

The LG Nexus 5s my wife and I own have served us well 3+ years. She is still using hers without issue. Mine stopped charging wirelessly and both have slowed considerably after all the system updates. I bought the G6 in the beginning of July when Amazon had it on sale for $499 and no tax. I also had 272 AmEx points to apply so I paid $228 in total. When I see another good sale I will get one for the wife to replace her aging Nexus 5. We will still use those when we travel out of the country.

Update: Found an unlocked black T-Mobile one (which is what I have) for $479 on Amazon. Grabbed it while there were 2 left in stock.

I'm sticking with the LG G6 as it truly is the best phone for me. And I've made a commitment to Jeremiah and to Nathan that I'm not going to buy another phone in 6 months. Lol

That's right, no flirting with those newer models.

In all seriousness though, I'm not sure what a new phone in 6-12 months can really offer over the G6. We've already seen that the SD 835 isn't a huge improvement over the 821 in real world usage. As long as we get Android O in good time I wouldn't blame anyone for wanted to hang onto the G6 for a while.

I agree 100%. Sometimes the technical nit-picking can get so inflamed that the real world difference is minimal so why not stick with what works best.
