Will you put a launcher on your new Note 20 Ultra?

I get five (using One UI), but maybe that's because I have the screen set to 600 dpi in Developer Options.

Also, the docked items can be folders, with up to 9 icons visible in each folder, so up to 45 docked apps in all.

I tried the folders on the dock and I wasn't a fan. The apps I have on my dock I just want to be able to get to without having to search. Push and go. LolScreenshot_20200815-055631_Nova%20Launcher.jpeg

I was able to put 5 on my dock . Thanks for that.

I have 5 icons in my Dock but haven't played around with those settings in Developers options.

I always try the new Samsung UI and end up on Nova Launcher Prime when I realize I still usually can not dial in what I like to on Nova.

I always start out with the stock launcher to see what changes there are and if it will do everything I want, but I have always ended up using my Nova Prime. It just has so many options and ways to customize.

I didn't last very long, I have Nove Prime running. One weird problem so far, though, my messages app will not show notification badges. I double checked, settings match my prior N10+ (which never had this problem), I cleared cache, and it seems it just...won't? If anyone has a tip on that please let me know.

Try resetting the launcher ?

No luck, but I admit I forgot to try that until your reply so thanks. I'll go back to stock icons too, make sure it isn't somehow related (although using what is on my 10+ that had badges just fine).

Long press message app tap info and scroll to notifications tap that and check any adjustments there ?

All good. I have checked several times and admittedly a few times it reset back to toggled off, but even when showing on (checked before/after receiving a message) no badge. So annoying, if any other app I couldn't care less but this will drive me crazy. (Or more specifically, everyone I wind up ignoring. I often read a preview, but depend on that badge to get back to them. Haha)

I just changed back to OneUI and the badge notification is fine, I am getting consistent results and no change in the settings. Definitely seems to be something with Nova, maybe I'll email them. Default icons made no difference.

You on the beta for Nova launcher ?

Ok to rule that out , this the stock message app ?

Yep. I know people rag on it, but I'm in Alaska - SMS a must/only thing that works in some areas I spend time at - and the look/feel works for me, integrates with dark mode, etc. I don't hate it, I tend to try something else here and there but revert for back for whatever reason.

You're really kind to try and help! I did email the developers, it's odd but maybe I just need to remove Nova and start fresh without my backup, see if it works then and set things up manually. (I do the rest of my phobe that way, fresh, but I guess doing the import for Nova seemed harmless.)

I suppose I can also try the app, set up the Google one as default to compare the behavior.

What a shame. I cleared data after nothing else worked since I hadn't before. Restarted the phone on top of it of course.

Nova replied, I have tried all three options (aside from "none" of course) for app badges in their settings. They say aside from that it's all phone/unrelated to Nova and probably not set up right somewhere. Yet OneUI continues to flawlessly display the app badges, and I've dug into numerous settings and layers about notifications and badges to assure it is in/active.

I may just try removing Nova, start it fresh and see. I can't help but continue use to think it's the root of the problem with OneUI not having any problem.

First and foremost, I went ahead and set OneUI back to default so I can monitor if anything resets or doesn't work properly for the app there. So far so good.
