I have three evos all running the newest fresh rom and radios. Two of the three are running 4g with no problems. I tried several different radios and Wimax and have had no such luck with the third phone. Frustrated and looking for ideas.

What problems are you getting? Is it connecting and then disconnecting right away?

Did you have any problems with rooting that third phone?

I never get connected in keeps searching and then says disconnected. To be honest the last time I had connected to 4G was several months ago in NY and don't even know what ROM or Radio I was using as I have changed it a few times. I just know all three phones have the same ROM and the same Radios and mine is the only one not working.

Alright, have you tried to update the profile in settings?

Ya I updated the profile and PRL. Is it possible is a hardware problem? Thanks for all your help.

It could be but if you had the phone working on 4G before it's hard to think that it just went bad. I know some people were losing their 4G keys in the early days of rooting or using unrevoked, but can you remember if you were able to use 4G after you rooted it?

Also, if you have adb installed, do this:

adb shell
cat /dev/mtd/mtd0 | grep RSA

edit: sorry, at the bottom of the screen after a second it should have two lines that say ---BEGIN RSA and --END RSA

I'm thinking this probably is fine but just to be sure.

Hmmm....don't remember if I was using 4g before or after root but if I had to guess I think it was before I was root. This is my output:

Try Deleting the Wimax XML File

Make sure 4G is off...

Delete the file

Then turn 4G back on

It helped me a while back might help you

I had the same issue, and I checked RSA key of my EVO. Unfortunately, I lost it. For now, there is no way i can recover it(i didnt save my nand backup when rooted first time), so Im wasting my $10 every month now.

That sucks...can't you just unroot and exchange the phone? It looks like my RSA key is in tact. I have no freaking clue what is going on. I deleted the XML file as mentioned above but won't be able to try it until tomorrow. It looks like a several people are having the same issue as me. I tried a lot of different radios/wimax with no success.

Wait till your in a 4G Area let us know...

I can send you a clean android backup of mine that I can back up with ra because ra backs up your radio partition. Of course no personal data of mine will be on it.

Might work.

Did you try to just flash the Rom again because I had the same problem with 4g and then it fixed when I related but make a android first just in case

@iagotsanevo4g if you think that might help sure I will try it out.
@boobie1292 I did try flashing Fresh again too see if that was the problem (with a wipe) and no such luck. Wondering if I should I try another rom?

doesnt hurt to try, im on myns rls4 and as soon as i reflashed it fixed. mine just kept saying searching. then it said failed. then back to searching

Alright I should have time today to send you a clean nandroid. I'll use the latest fresh Rom, cause... why not haha.

I gotta work some today but I should have it by the evening. (pacific time)
