My wife has never had a premium phone. Before we were married, the first phone I bought her was the Razr M. Then I got here the Galaxy Grand Prime on the cricket network. She doesn't complain, but then I asked her if she wanted another phone. I currently have the s5, which is probably the best phone I ever had. We were looking to buy her brother's s5, which right now is still up in the air. I want to give my wife a good phone, and it would probably make her very happy.
