Window Mount

I bought the iGrip mount from Verizon and love it. I used iGrip on my BlackBerry too. The round plastic thing will stay stuck to your windshield but you can easily remove the actual cradle.

I only put the cradle up on long trips. I love how when you put the phone in the cradle it opens navigator.

The phone sits nice and snug with no vibration.

When you say it launches the navigator, do you mean the vz navigator or Google nav?

The mount does not come with a charging cable, and it launches the car home app to answer the other question.

What is that car app? I hadn't seen it before. Only when I put my phone in the mount.

The car panel does not show up in the app drawer but it's there in settings -> applications

I just bought one of these from Amazon: Amazon.com: Arkon Universal Windshield with Dashboard and Vent Mount for Smartphones and PDAs (Black): Cell Phones & Accessories

A friend of mine has a similar model by the same brand and it is very nice. Heavy duty (big) suction cup and holds most devices nicely with easy access to usb ports for charging. And, of course, much cheaper than anything from VZW.
Arkon has another type of mount on their website for the Thunderbolt for $14.00:

You can get the holder and mount separately, so you can get a dash mount, cupholder or whatever.

I need a dash mount more for Video Road usage instead of the Navigation feature (I already have a built-in GPS plus a garmin 60CSx for geocaching. (Video Road produces continuous recording of your drive similar to a police dash cam.) Does the VZW windshield mount allow an unobstructed view for the camera lens? I hope to mount the holder very low on the dash, horizontally holding the phone out so I can use the dash as a stabilizing support (maybe with a small piece of foam rubber).

Does the Verizon mount allow the phone to be situated landscape as well as portrait?

Yes, it does allow horizontal mount but I'm not sure about the camera... I think it blocks the main camera.

EDIT: I was wrong. The main camera is not blocked either.

Where do you guys see this Verizon mount that doesn't block the camera and can do horizontal / vertical viewing? I went to Verizon website and I don't see any car mount for the HTC Thunderbolt.
