Windows 7 Can't See My Droid Turbo

Hi, I want to move files from my droid turbo to my windows 7 pc. I thought when I connected the powered on phone to the computer via USB a window would popd up and I would be able to use Windows Explorer to move files. The phone doesn't get recognized. I've google a bit, tried installing Motorola Device Manager on my PC but haven't made any progress. Suggestions? Thanks.

Don't use a USB hub... Try a different phone cord or USB port

Thanks spagman. Wasn't using hub but tried the cable that came with the phone and it worked. Thanks very much.

I never plug my phone into the PC. Try Airdroid and transfer files wirelessly

The way my wife and kids destroy our computer... I prefer to have my photos automatically upload to my google+ account. Then I can download them to our computer when needed... That is when I can get the computer up and running again.
