Wipe Fingerprint Sensor and try again

I get the wipe Fingerprint Sensor and try again message extremely frequently. I have to delete and re add my fingerprint to even get it to work for more than an hour or so. After that time it does not recognize my fingerprint. A delete and re add works for a short time. Any suggestions?
